FootDraft Cookies and Local Storage Policy

Version: 1.0 · Effective date: 16 July 2026 · Game address: https://footdraft.app · Operator: Alexander Organ · Contact: [email protected]

1. About this Policy

  1. This Cookies and Local Storage Policy explains how FootDraft may use cookies, local storage, session storage and similar browser storage technologies.
  2. FootDraft is an unofficial, independent football-inspired draft game. The game runs in a web browser and may need to store some data on the user's device to work properly.
  3. This Policy supplements the FootDraft Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
  4. At this stage, FootDraft is a free beta version and does not contain advertising, payments, premium features, microtransactions or paid virtual currency.

2. Short version

  1. FootDraft may use cookies and local storage mainly so that the game works properly.
  2. We may store data needed for login, session maintenance, remembering game settings, interface operation, security and temporary gameplay saving.
  3. At this stage, we do not use advertising cookies, behavioral advertising cookies or tracking across different websites.
  4. At this stage, we do not use payments, so we do not store payment-related cookies.
  5. If we add advertising, analytics, payments or premium features in the future, this Policy will be updated.

3. What cookies and local storage are

Cookies are small files or pieces of information stored by a website in the user's browser. Local storage is a browser mechanism that allows a website to store data locally on the user's device. Session storage works similarly to local storage, but data is usually stored only for the duration of a browser session or tab. Similar technologies may include other browser mechanisms used to store settings, session identifiers, technical data or temporary game data.

4. Technologies we may use

FootDraft uses one functional session cookie for login and session maintenance. The cookie is technical, HttpOnly, Secure and has an expiration date. FootDraft may also use local storage, session storage, session identifiers and other similar technical mechanisms needed for the game to work.

5. Why we use cookies and local storage

We may use cookies, local storage and similar technologies to keep the user logged in, operate the user session, protect the account and game security, remember game settings and interface preferences, store temporary gameplay state, ensure proper operation of the draft, simulation, squads and other features, detect technical errors, limit abuse, bots, cheats and exploits, and provide stable browser operation.

6. Types of data that may be stored

Cookies, local storage, session storage or similar technologies may store in particular: a session identifier or login status, fd_season as local season/career mode data, fd_active as data allowing an interrupted match to be resumed, and fd_reload_key as an administrative technical tool not used by regular players. FootDraft does not store the user's password in plain text in local storage.

7. Essential cookies

Essential cookies are needed for FootDraft to work. They may be used for login, session maintenance, security, remembering basic settings, game functions and protection against abuse. Without essential cookies or similar technologies, some FootDraft features may not work properly. Essential cookies are not used for behavioral advertising.

8. Local storage and session storage

FootDraft uses local storage in particular for fd_season, meaning local season/career mode data, and fd_active, meaning data allowing an interrupted match to be resumed. Session storage may include fd_reload_key, which is a technical administrative key not used by regular players. Data in local storage may remain in the browser until it is deleted by the user, the browser or FootDraft. Data in session storage is usually removed after closing the tab or browser.

9. Analytics

At this stage, FootDraft does not use external analytics tools that require analytics cookies, such as Google Analytics, Sentry, PostHog, Meta Pixel or similar tracking tools. The Operator may analyze basic technical data and server logs to diagnose errors, improve game stability, ensure security, detect abuse and develop FootDraft. Cloudflare may process basic technical traffic data as part of its proxy, CDN, TLS, security and basic traffic statistics services.

10. Advertising and tracking

At this stage, FootDraft does not contain ads, does not use advertising cookies, does not use cookies to track users across different websites, and does not use behavioral advertising or ad profiling. If advertising, advertising partners, advertising tracking, paid ad removal or similar features are introduced in the future, this Policy will be updated before launch.

11. Payments

At this stage, FootDraft does not offer payments, premium features, microtransactions, subscriptions, paid virtual currency or paid digital items. Therefore, FootDraft does not use cookies or similar technologies to process payments. If payments or premium features are introduced in the future, this Policy will be updated.

12. External providers

FootDraft uses or may use external technical providers such as Hetzner, Cloudflare, Resend and GitHub. Cloudflare may set its own technical cookies or similar mechanisms related to security, anti-bot protection, proxy, CDN or proper operation of its services. At this stage, FootDraft does not use advertising or analytics cookies.

13. How users can control cookies and local storage

Users can manage cookies and local data through their browser settings. Browsers usually allow users to delete cookies, block cookies, delete local storage data, clear site data, restrict selected technologies or automatically delete data after closing the browser. Blocking or deleting cookies and local storage may cause some FootDraft features not to work properly.

14. Is a cookie banner needed

At this stage, FootDraft uses only or mainly technologies needed for the game, login, security and settings. If only technically necessary cookies are used, a simple information banner may be sufficient or a banner may not be required in the same way as for advertising cookies. If FootDraft introduces analytics, advertising, tracking or similar non-essential technologies in the future, a cookie consent banner may be required.

15. Changes to this Policy

The Operator may update this Policy, especially if the way the game works changes, new features are added, storage technologies change, analytics, advertising, payments or premium features are added, technical providers change or laws change. Users will be informed of material changes in a visible way in the game or on the website.
